We are all bracing for the big winter storm. While we’re unsure when it will come, it is inevitable in Indiana. And you never know if one day there will be six inches of snow and the next its 70 degrees. Either way, it may be difficult to imagine sitting poolside unless it’s frozen and you’re bundled up. However, you know this summer becoming a lifeguard is on your list. There is no better way to get a head start on your summer plans then by registering to become CPR certified with RESQ Health & Safety Training.
Since you will be doing everything you can to stay indoors and avoid the cold, why not be productive by getting your certifications knocked out. These two programs (Heartsaver CPR & Heartsaver CPR/AED) can be completed in our Fort Wayne location (St. Mary's Catholic Church: 1101 Lafayette Street Fort Wayne, IN 46802 (

On Tuesday December 27, you can take Heartsaver CPR or Heartsaver CPR & AED training. Register for these classes today as space is limited. If you have questions, call us at 260.573.0106 or email

What is Heartsaver CPR Certification?
The American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR course is modular and teaches lay-rescuers how to recognize and treat life-threatening emergencies. These include cardiac arrest and choking for adult and child victims. Students also learn to recognize the warning signs of heart attack and stroke in adults and breathing difficulties in children. This program is designed for first time students and renewal students. Recognizing and treating life-threatening emergencies with adult, child, and optionally infant victims will help you become the best lifeguard you can be. Register.
What is Heartsaver CPR & AED Certification?
In addition to the afore mentioned AHA Heartsaver CPR program, this course features application and use of automated external defibrillators (AED) in cardiac arrest situations. The American Heart Association (AHA) estimates that nearly 120,000 of approx. 300,000 people who die from sudden cardiac arrest could be saved with public access defibrillation. Many of the newest pools in the state of Indiana, including some well established health clubs, are armed with this innovative device. Knowing how and when to use it will make you even more marketable when you begin looking for a lifeguarding position. Register.
Regardless of which class you choose, becoming a lifeguard requires you to complete CPR training and RESQ can help you complete this in your backyard. You will probably see instructors in the mall or when you go exercise because they live and work where you do. Get the best training available with the American Heart Association’s program in your city – Fort Wayne - today.
