LEARn AHA COURSES IN THE RESQ CLASSROOM

In addition to blended e-learning and onsite training programs, we continue to provide conveniently located in-person classroom training. Individuals can register for classroom-based courses online.

The following programs may be available in classroom style:

  • AHA ACLS Provider - Advanced Cardiac Life Support​​

    • ​The AHA’s ACLS course builds on the foundation of lifesaving BLS skills, emphasizing the importance of continuous, high-quality CPR. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC)

  • AHA ACLS + BLS 

    • ​Save time and money with the Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Renewal course and Basic Life Support (BLS) combination course.

  • AHA BLS - Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers

    • ​The AHA’s BLS course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).

  • AHA Bloodborne Pathogens

    • ​The Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens course teaches students how to protect themselves and others from being exposed to blood or blood-containing materials. This course is designed to meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements for bloodborne pathogens training when paired with site-specific instruction. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC)

  • AHA CPR / AED

    • ​The Heartsaver CPR AED course trains participants to give CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).

  • AHA CPR / AED + First Aid

    • ​The AHA’s Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course trains participants to provide first aid, CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).

  • AHA First Aid

    •  This program teaches students critical skills and knowledge needed to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives. 

  • AHA CPR for Teachers

    • ​ RESQ Health and Safety provides training that meets Indiana Department of Education requirements for Teacher CPR/AED Training.

  • AHA PALS Provider - Pediatric Advanced Life Support

    • ​Pediatric Advanced Life Support - HeartCode PALS Part 1 is for healthcare providers who respond to emergencies in infants and children. This includes personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units such as physicians, nurses, paramedics and others who need a PALS course completion card and are seeking an alternative (non-classroom) method for completing an initial or update PALS certification course.

    ISDH QMA - Qualified Medication Aide

    • A Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) is a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) who has acquired extra training, completed annual in-service training, and demonstrated proficiency in dispensing and passing medications and/or applying/administering treatments while under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or a licensed practical nurse. To be eligible, you must hold a CNA license in the state of Indiana, be employed at a Nursing Facility, and provide proof of 1000 hours of CNA work in the past 24 months.

    ISDH QMA Insulin Administration

    • This course will follow the ISDH curriculum and prepare students for the administered QMA Insulin Administration Exam proctored by Ivy Tech. Successful completion of the written exam will give participants a QMA -Insulin Administration sub-type Certification, granting them the permission to administer insulin in a facility.

    Stop the Bleed

    • Our instructors will provide you with guidance on the proper techniques to STOP THE BLEED®. They will observe your movements and provide feedback as you practice the three bleeding control methods. They will stick with you until you can confidently demonstrate the correct skills to aid in a bleeding emergency and potentially save a life.

    AHA Instructor Courses

    • The American Heart Association is looking for passionate and driven people to teach first aid, CPR, AED, and advanced cardiovascular care. If you have enthusiasm for saving lives, are confident in leading small or large groups, and have the ability to simplify complicated topics, then you could be an ideal fit for the role.
