The AHA BLS Instructor and AHA Heartsaver Instructor Courses are designed for business owners and organizational leaders who want to train their own employees in CPR, AED, First Aid, and Basic Life Support. These courses equip you with the required materials, teaching methodology, and certification pathway to deliver American Heart Association–approved training directly within your workplace — ensuring your staff stays compliant, confident, and prepared when seconds count.

Prerequisites for the Instructor Course

To attend the AHA Instructor Course, you must complete the following before class.

1. Hold a Current AHA Provider Card (BLS or Heartsaver CPR/AED/First Aid)

A current AHA Provider certification is required prior to enrolling in the Instructor Course.

2. Purchase Your Instructor Manual

You are required to have the current AHA BLS/Heartsaver Instructor Manual for this course.

3. Complete the Instructor Essentials Online Course

You must also complete the BLS Instructor Essentials Online Course prior to attending the in-person instructor training.

Please bring the following items with you on the day of your instructor class:

  • A copy of your valid AHA Provider Card
